Party in the USA
Jewel-Osco is inviting Chicagoans to continue America’s 250th birthday celebration with Party in the USA, a free, public event. The immersive, coast-to-coast celebration transforms the venue into an interactive road trip across America, complete with themed regional experiences, live entertainment, games, contests, giveaways, photo ops and activities for all ages. Highlights include everything from a Florida-inspired swamp with live gators, a moon landing bounce house, and a New England lobster shack to New Orleans entertainment, Venice Beach performers, Pickleball, a climbing wall, oversized Vegas-style games and more. Guests can enter online for a chance to win a Chicago Style Grand Prize Package valued at more than $3,800.
Prairie Avenue Walking Tour
In the late nineteenth century, Prairie Avenue was the most exclusive street in Chicago. Explore over two centuries of history – from the Battle of Fort Dearborn in 1812 through the neighborhood’s recent transformation into what is once again one of the most fashionable and desirable neighborhoods in Chicago. William Tyre, author of Chicago’s Historic Prairie Avenue, leads this two-hour walking tour which includes viewing the surviving mansions, sharing historic photos of the homes that have been lost, and touring the interior of the National Historic Landmark Second Presbyterian Church with its extraordinary Arts & Crafts sanctuary and collection of nine Tiffany windows, including the newly restored “Jeweled” window.
Swing for Dignity
Swing for Dignity is an annual golf fundraiser, hosted by Designs for Dignity (D4D), a nonprofit that transforms Chicago-area nonprofit spaces through pro bono design and in-kind donations. While scramble foursomes are now sold out, Chicagoans can still support through attending the 19th Hole Reception ($50) or through a Hole Contest Sponsorship. This post-round reception – including bites, beverages, a raffle, and both a live and silent auction – is a great way to support the D4D cause and connect with the community.
JoJo’s Birthday Bounty
Jewel-Osco is celebrating the birthday of its beloved mascot, JoJo, at Brookfield Zoo Chicago. All paid admission zoo-goers are invited to celebrate along with JoJo and his Chicago mascot friends during a free pirate-themed birthday bash. The afternoon will feature family-friendly entertainment and activities.
Dance for Life 35th Anniversary
Chicago Dance Health Fund, which provides financial relief for preventative healthcare and critical medical needs for Chicago dance industry professionals, announces Dance for Life 35th Anniversary. A Gala Dinner takes place at 5 p.m. at Venue SIX10, 610 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, and the After Party following the performance also takes place at Venue SIX10. For this special anniversary performance, the lineup includes prominent Chicago dance companies and celebrated Chicago choreographers.

70th Annual Gold Coast Fashion Show
Fashion and philanthropy merge as the Children’s Service Board celebrates the 70th annual Gold Coast Fashion Show. Cutting-edge fashion is presented in two fast-paced, live runway shows at a luncheon on September 17 at The Drake Hotel and an evening cocktail reception on September 24 at the Geraghty. Funds raised will benefit the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Tickets are $25 and participants are encouraged to invite friends and family to sponsor their plunge or climb. All proceeds benefit Allendale in Lake Villa, a school and residence supporting the behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs of some of Illinois’s most vulnerable children.
75th Annual Children’s Research Fund Children’s Ball
The 2026 Children’s Ball is the signature fundraising event of the Children’s Research Fund at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
